What an honor to work with the legendary Neil Young.  My dear friend, mentor, and “EARTH” co-producer, John Hanlon invited me to record a small 6-piece vocal ensemble on a handful of songs on Neil’s new album.  Of course I said, “YES!”  John and I have been friends for many years and I’d always dreamed of helping him in some way on a Neil album.  Lo and behold, my dream came true.

My wife Charissa Nielsen contracted the singers and sang in the choir.  Our one-day session turned into 5 days because Neil loved the choir so much that he kept adding parts to new songs for them to sing.  It was the best.  I’ll never forget sitting in the control room day after day, looking out into the live room at The Village Recorder where Neil was conducting my wife and the other singers, all of them laughing and having a great time.
